My flight to Lahore is tonight, or, correctly, my flight to Karachi is early tomorrow morning. I have a rather ugly journey ahead, and am feeling foolish for not booking a direct flight to Lahore despite the cost. There used to be a direct PIA flight between KL and Lahore; then it changed to KL to Karachi with a four hour transit before flying on to Lahore. Last week even that was changed and the transit time has increased to 9 hours — very long, but far too short to risk going into Karachi proper. Ugh. Next time I fly Malindo.
An excellent lunch at Sarang yesterday. This is a cookery school that specialises in Nyonya, Malay and Kristang cuisine from Malacca, and was a recent discovery of mine. We had their nasi ulam, a rice tossed with about 15 different finely julienned herbs, sotong petai (delightfully fierce and well-balanced), a sharp, fresh mango kerabu, and a very good mutton rendang.
